Standing Up Country - 'The Canyon Lands of Utah and Arizona' by Gregory Crampton. Lots of good history! Heart of the Desert Wild - 'Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument' by Greer K Chester with photographs by noted panoramic photographer Liz Hymans. This is my favorite - filled with interesting information, to pick up over and over again. Photographing the Southwest - by Laurent Martres and published by Phototrips USA This guide is filled with detailed information for photographers, maps and plenty of black and white photos. You can also purchase a CD of the photos in color. Photo Traveler's Guide to Southeast Utah and Photo Treavler's Guide to Southwest Utah Website Finally you should purchase a Utah Atlas & Gazetteer published by DeLorme - Back roads, BLM, State Lands and GPS Grids. This is wonderfully detailed book with excellent topo maps in great detail.I used it many times each day. All the roads I traveled are now highlighted in yellow. Their Site |
