Eleanor's PhotoBlog - Issue #4

Welcome to the fourth edition!     9/02/2006
After gathering the information for the Resource Page for the Wenatchee, WA camera club (Photography Association of Wenatchee - PAW) I've come to the realization that the page is now too long and some entries don't go into enough detail.

I'll have a chance here to tell more about my personal involvement with photography. If you haven't visited my web site "Eleanor's Travels", here's the HOME PAGE.

From a friend after a camera club meeting: "Your new photographs are wonderfully rich in imagery. I didn't know that one of the reasons for your trip to Glacier National Park was to photograph another red-rock formation. Seeing your pictures on Monday helped me to appreciate your focus on a unique subject matter. An exhibit of your rock photography with compositions and expression rather than location or rock type as the criteria would be interesting to see. That is why I asked you what you liked about your photograph at the meeting Monday night. When you can say what is compelling to you in each of your images regardless of what type of rock it is or where you shot them, you would have a process by which to select individual compositons for an exhibit.  Just a thought."

Yes, it sure is! I'll give this a lot of thought. For many articles and essays be sure to go to Alain Briot's site, Beautiful Landscape. You can begin here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I memtioned in an earlier issue about how much I enjoyed shooting the SONY DSC-H5, a non-SLR 7.2 megapixels camera. I like it because of the simplicity of changing from shooting in color and then quickly changing to Black & White. While driving north of Waterton Lakes N. P. we came upon a field with wonderful old wagons set out just for passers-by to enjoy.
