Eleanor's PhotoBlog - Issue #25  02/10/2010

Just my thoughts - convert RAW captures with Lightroom 2?? Or - I suggest HDR Darkroom.
I'm more than just a bit overwhelmed when I open an image in Lightroom.
(Some adjustments are shown here.)
Here we can see a good Histogram, Basic Adjustments, then drop down menus for Tone Curve,
HSL etc., Split Toning, Detail, Vignettes, Camera Calibration ....

Using Lightroom

... but not when I use HDR Darkroom. I generally only use the
Local Tone Balancer, back off on the Strength and Saturation.
There's nothing complicated with adjusting Local Lighting and Brightness.
With this image I'll also change the White Balance.
Then the image goes to my' regular' image editing program.
(I haven't tried to make both look alike. You shouldn't decide if you like
or dislike these two images. I really only want to show how
HDR Darkroom is so much much less complicated.)
