How do I begin? I found Travel Images in Outdoor Photography and because I've needed a change of scene from all that exploring in our SW red rock country, I knew I would love it. I've been to Bavaria and Austria several times in the past 10 years, but not for the soul purpose of taking photographs, Travel Images takes only 7 clients and they have a van over in England that they use for these trips. The trip began and ended in Munich, Germany and we also visited Austria, Switzerland, northern Italy (for the Dolomites) and Liechtenstein.

"Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Heiligenblut, Innsbruck, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Interlaken, Liechtenstein, and Ludwig’s castles. All of this will be interwoven with spectacular mountain passes, wildflowers, and rustic Swiss and Austrian communities that nestle beneath the magnificence of the towering Alps. A little bit of Italy and Germany will also be thrown into the photographic mix too.. "
From John Baker's site.

We really weren't there to learn the history, nor to learn about the culture (except what we could see, of course) ... or to shop! We were there to take photographs! And that we did - hundreds every day.

For health reasons I decided to travel with light weight photography equipment rather than my Canon XTi and various heavy lenses. So I purchased a $19.95 sturdy monopod, a Manfrotto ball head and a brand new SONY DSC-H9 with a DSC H5 for a backup. I took along an Epson P-2000 viewer to dump the cards of photos into and my laptop ... for a backup. This proved to be perfect for me because I didn't have to take my camera off the monopod between photo stops. The rest had to get their heavier tripods out of the back of the van each time.

The monopod was found at Fred Meyers for $19.95 the ball head is a Manfrotto 804RC2 three wayPan/Tilt Head with RC-2 Quick Release.$64.95 from B& H.

Using the H-9 I bracketed every scene as well as often changing the composition very slightly at times.

That's me.

Interesting results when bracketing
and the shutter doesn't work very
quickly!!
It was a Sunday and all the bikers
were out. And there we were

not paynig any attention to them. Grossglockner Pass

When I got home I put all the originals onto a WD Passport auxilary drive that measures about 3" x 6"! I use the Zoom Browser program that comes with a Canon camera to sort and Ulead's Photo Explorer to print the thumbnails of the photos that are keepers. Since I did not shoot RAW captures I used Paint Sop Pro v.10 for all the rest of the post processing. To date I have printed 332 4" x 6" prints and have 15 slide shows for you to enjoy. Captions will be added sparingly.
