Making a Larger Color Palette to use with Dreamweaver or TopStyle
- or whenever you need a BIGGER palette.

Open Fireworks, go to Window > Swatches. Stretch it out to approximately 575 X 400. Use PrintScreen or some 'capture' program.
I opened my image in Paint Shop Pro (I have more experience with this program), cropped it carefully and saved it as a .png file. If you use any compression the colors are not 100% accurate. Saving as a .gif didn't work well. A .jpg with NO compression will work, but is a larger file size. As I experimented with various means of Saving, I kept checking the accuracy of the colors with an eye-dropper. My desktop eye-dropper is EyeDropper, a very handy little tool.

Once you have made your enlarged palette you can open it and use it with the eye-dropper that comes with a number of programs. If you use two monitors place this palette in your smaller one.

Your palette will look like this. The finished size here is 536 x 325, or make it what ever size you want!

This .png file is accurate. I even used it within
Dreamweaver to set the color of this text. But when
previewed in a browser it was no longer accurate.

Here is a .jpg in case you can't see the .png above.
