New Overall Workflow adapted October 2005

Two programs that I use all the time to prepare my images for my web pages, or for print, have been greatly improved... so much so that I will work differently 'in the field'. Whereas before, including the Utah 2005 photoshoot, I was never quite sure whether I wanted to shoot RAW, with just one careful exposure, or shoot 3 bracketed JPEGs. I've always been quite fond of using Ulead's Photo Explorer for reviewing the shots I take each day.* But, until now, PEX didn't open RAW files so I had to extract the JPEGs from the RAW files (Canon Digital Rebel - original variety!) PEX 8.6 is now a part of Ulead's most recent version of PhotoImpact 11 and NOW it opens RAW files. With this in mind I will, in the future, be concentrating on well thoughtout RAW captures

New workflow will be:
> Shoot primarily RAW captures taking a bit more time with exposure settings and always reviewing the histogram.
> When in the field, download the photos to my laptop and view both thumbnails and larger images with Photo Explorer 8.6
> Use RAWShooter essentials Premium edition to make initial changes to the RAW captures. Set up Paint Shop Pro X to 'receive' them.
> Complete the preparation with UTAH 2005 Photoshoot Image Workflow
Using Corel's Paint Shop Pro - new version 10
