In 1992 renowned chainsaw artist Glenn Greensides was commissioned to transform trees that were standing dead in British Columbia's forests into beautiful wooden sculptures. 30 monuments to wildlife, industry and recreaction now stand on Grouse Mountain north of Vancouver.
