Project Oriented Photography Developing Your Talent "Focus your Work and Efforts on Projects" Alain Briot

After taking a "Photographer's Test" to access skills, students will do a quick review of camera basics to learn your camera's capabilities. Then choose, plan and shoot projects (such as your garden or the Wenatchee River). Have a thorough discussion about composition. Review basic post-processing and organize project shots for various types of output (web galleries and photobooks etc). Introduction to several editing programs and numerous resources. Wednesday October 6th 2010: Project Oriented Photography
Session I - Accessment, more advanced camera settings, file formats, exposure problems, learning how the histogram will help you. Overview of projects. Challenges. View many
examples of projects. Choose a project to shoot during the coming week. Tips and resources.

Wednesday October 13th 2010: Have a thorough discussion of Composition, cropping etc.
Session II - Take an artistic approach (vs. taking 'snapshots'), to photo shoots, subjects, and projects. Introduction to many usefull programs. How to get your photos organized and optimized. Review project progress (plan to reshoot?)

Wednesday October 20th 2010: Review numerous resources
Session III - Look at several image editing programs for easy printing, photobooks and view final projects.
